Privacy policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026
This policy explains what data Erudite Octopus collects on this website and in its apps and games, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we never ask for your name or email to play, we don't sell data, and our games work without an account.
1. Who we are
The controller is Erudite Octopus, Unipessoal, Lda. For anything related to privacy, write to [email protected].
2. This website
- No cookies and no advertising trackers.
- Anonymous statistics. We count pages viewed, the referring site, the language, the type of screen (mobile or desktop) and clicks on projects and contact links, using PostHog on servers in the European Union. Each page view gets a random identifier that is not stored on your device and is not linked to you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which content is useful.
- Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against attacks. Cloudflare Web Analytics also counts visits without cookies and without identifying visitors.
- Email. If you write to us, we use your address and message only to reply, and keep them for up to 2 years, or longer if they become part of a contract.
3. Apps and games
This section applies to all apps and games published by Erudite Octopus on Google Play, currently: Blockopus.

Consent. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the game shows Google's consent message the first time you open it. You can change your choice at any time in the game's privacy options.
What we don't collect: name, email, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos or files.
4. Children
Our games are made for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it. Our YouTube channels are hosted by YouTube; channels for young children are marked as made for kids, which limits the data YouTube collects.
5. How long we keep data
- Gameplay statistics: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Advertising data: according to Google's policies.
- Game progress: until you uninstall the game or clear its data.
- Emails: up to 2 years, unless they become part of a contract.
6. Sharing and international transfers
We do not sell or rent data. We only share it with the providers listed above, who process it on our behalf or as independent controllers. Google may process data outside the European Union under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More information: how Google uses data from apps that use its services, Google privacy policy, PostHog privacy policy, Cloudflare privacy policy.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict and object to the processing of your data, to data portability and to withdraw consent at any time. Game statistics use a random identifier that we cannot link to you, so the simplest way to erase it is to uninstall the game, which creates a new identifier if you reinstall. To exercise any right, write to [email protected]. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one in the country where you live.
8. Changes
When this policy changes we update the date at the top. Significant changes are also announced in the games.
